On a magical trip to Switzerland at the age of 9, I was fortunate enough to befriend the resident yoga instructors at the hotel and had my first taste of Yoga (although it felt quite familiar). It was fascinating and fun, and I couldn't articulate why it felt so "right," but it did!
Years later, living and working in NYC, exhausted and burnt out from a career in commercial film editing, I stumbled into a yoga studio that I passed daily on my way to work. Little did I know that this decision would shape the rest of my life and lead me on a path of self-recovery. While everything wasn't suddenly rainbows and butterflies, yoga provided me with tools and techniques to release stored-up stress in my body, grow stronger, and connect with a vital energy within myself. A year after completing teacher training, I made the bold decision to leave my job, and I have never looked back.
My teaching style aims to offer a well-rounded combination of movement, held postures, breathing exercises, and meditation tailored to fit the needs of my students, both mentally and physically. I have taught at various locations throughout NYC, including studios such as YogaWorks and Bowery Yoga, as well as to high net-worth private clientele and corporations such as Fischer Travel and WeWorks. Most recently, I have been a featured teacher on the fitness app OneFirelight.com. Now, having relocated to Southwest Florida, I am embracing the opportunity to teach in this beautiful, warm, sunny environment. Importantly, all my classes are infused with welcoming energy for students of all levels.
Yoga has taught me how to embrace all aspects of myself: the messy parts of life alongside the beautiful ones, the whirlwind of thoughts and emotions that I'd rather ignore, and how to invite it all in and simply "be" with it. My practice is always evolving as I evolve as a person and it is a constant friend I can realy on. I am grateful for this journey and for all the students I have had the pleasure of guiding.
